Subconscious mind and changing the behaviour

When you don't have any other option

I can’t believe I did that!!!
How could I have done that!!
I can't imagine that this has happened to me!!

Do these phrases sound familiar? What's wrong with the people who've said them?
The answer is simple, they didn’t have any other option.

Options and the subconscious mind:

Your subconscious mind is very powerful whenever it faces a situation that requires taking an action it quickly scans the options it has and then applies the best one it finds.

For example, if you were walking down the street and suddenly someone pointed a knife to you then the options you will have will be 1) running or 2) give him all your money.

Your subconscious mind will choose the best of them depending on the situation then apply it. But what if you were a kung fu master? Will your options still be limited to running away or handing over your money? Of course not, you will have the option of fighting the man.

How can you make use of that?

You might have guessed now that most of your unwanted behavior is only the result of lack of options.

You sometimes become afraid because the option of being courageous is not there. You sometimes lack self confidence because the option of being confident is not there.

The conclusion is that you can change whatever behaviour you want provided that you provide your mind with other options.

How to install new options?

As for how you can add new options, the method is simple; you just need to use visualization. Your subconscious mind does not differentiate between real and imaginary experiences (see subconscious mind rules)

when you visualize yourself acting in a certain way your subconscious mind will think that this situation has happened in real life. Based on that, it will consider the option of acting that way the next time you face a similar situation.

Try to locate the behavior that you want to change and then visualize that new option as much as you can until it becomes a habit. Eventually you'll find that your unwanted behavior has changed.
