Body language's reverse effect

Body language usage is not limited to the understanding of others; you can also have others perceive you the way you want them to. No one should be allowed to know your feelings unless you allow them to; surely your enemies will be very happy to see you feeling bad or disappointed. In order to prevent this, you can use whatever body form you learn to fool others into thinking that you're experiencing a specific feeling or the other.

It's really basically simple; suppose you want to appear confident, just stand upright with your back straight, clasp your hands in front of your stomach and raise your head a little. Everyone will believe you're confident, even if you're really not.

Another thing that is worth mentioning is the reverse effect. If you take a certain posture, you will soon experience the emotion associated with that posture. For example, a few seconds after taking the posture of confidence, you will start feeling very confident.

As you've just seen, very slight changes to your body language can have a big effect on your relationships with people. In my book, How to make someone fall in love with you, I elaborated on how slight changes, like that of keeping a straight back, can increase the chances of having people fall in love with you. The more confident you appear, the more attractive you will become; nothing can make you appear confident than a straight back.
