He always wanted to be a famous singer. He tried very hard, did a lot of effort and held on to his dream but after some time he started to realize that he will never reach his dream. As a result he gave up on his dream, found a sales job and acted as if he is happy with it.
On the conscious level this seemed like a good solution to the problem because the conscious mind can be easily silenced but for the subconscious mind giving up on a dream was not acceptable.
The way we were designed forces the subconscious mind to object whenever we attempt to give up on our dreams. This is why alarm signals such as depression, indifference and lack of motivation fire whenever we move in a direction that will not lead to the realization of our dreams.
How many people out there wanted to marry a certain person then scarified this dream because they believed they will never get him? i am not telling you that you will always get the person you always dreamed of, but if you didn't manage to do that because of any extraordinary event then at least get married to a better person that you are satisfied with.(see also How to make someone fall in love with you)
If you always wanted to become an athlete then never managed to do it because of medical reasons then at least find another dream that can make you satisfied instead of living a mediocre life.
If fame was your main goal then you can get it through any other career but don't just settle for something way below the thing that you wanted because this is the fastest way to a miserable life. (see also How to make your life miserable)
Every single real success story communicates the same theory. If you managed to keep trying you will get what you wanted to get.
Even if you didn't realize the dream you can realize a bigger one or at least a one that makes you satisfied. I have always dreamed of being a self made millionaire through the stock market,i tried and tried but this never worked.
So instead of settling for a mediocre job that will leave my subconscious mind unhappy i forced my way until i became a self made millionaire through this internet business. (see my book How i did it)
no one asked you to keep holding on to a sinking ship but instead find another ship that can take you to the place you wanted to reach instead of living a mediocre life on a nearby island.
I have managed to become a self made millionaire at the age of 28. This didn't happen by chance because i already wrote that goal down five years before i accomplished it. Becoming rich is not about luck, starting big or being intelligent but its all about having certain beliefs about money and life.
