Commitment to New Year’s Resolutions

At the beginning of each year hope shines again because people feel that there is a good chance for a new beginning.

This motivates some people to write down their New Year’s resolutions. A New Year’s resolution is a commitment that a person makes to change his life style to the better or to quit a bad habit in the new year.

Personally I think that the New Year’s resolutions idea is a great one but the problem is that people rarely commit to these resolutions!! Some of us may even make the same resolutions each year but never manage to stick to them. Each year the same person may decide to lose weight, exercise more, have a healthy life style or break a bad habit but he never commits to his goals!!

In this article i will tell you how to Commitment to New Year’s Resolutions.

Why don’t people Commit to New Year’s Resolutions?

I am sure that you have experienced the situation where you kept trying to do something for years without success then one day found yourself doing it without effort.

Why weren't you successful for months then one day you did it? and if doing that thing was simple then why didn't you manage to do it long ago?

The answer is simple as long as you want to do something without convincing your subconscious mind you won't be able to do it even if your conscious mind was convinced that its great.

For example, if you dislike your job your subconscious mind may prevent you from waking up on time even if your conscious mind was trying hard to wake you up early. That’s why most New Year’s resolutions don’t work!! People set New Year’s resolutions on the conscious level without getting near to their subconscious mind and that's why it works against them.

Sarah’s New Year’s resolutions included quitting smoking and exercising but she never managed to commit to them. Sarah’s subconscious mind had the beliefs that smoking causes relaxation and that exercising will never help her to lose weight.

That’s why whenever she wanted to exercise she found herself too lazy to do it and that's why whenever she wanted to quit smoking she couldn't do it. Its just because her subconscious mind was resisting those new resolutions.

Some people stay broken for years after breakup up because of the same reason. Even in breakups its the same concept, if you managed to convince your subconscious mind to accept the fact that you lost that person then you will get over him quickly.

How to Convince the Subconscious Mind to Accept The New Year’s Resolutions

There are few ways in which you can convince your subconscious mind to accept your new Year’s Resolutions. The first is writing the New Year’s resolutions down and reading them as soon as you wake up and just before you sleep.

Writing allows the subconscious mind to absorb the information while reading them again and again helps to solidify the beliefs in the subconscious mind. (See subconscious mind programming for more information)
