How to get things done fast

I am sure you met one of those people who managed to achieve three times your achievements and who is in the same time younger than you.

He is not a workaholic, he is not a geek, he enjoys his life, he hangs out more than you do and yet he is more successful than you!!

How did this guy do it? How did he manage to bring all that free time? And how come did he manage to get things done that fast? In this article i will tell you the secret that is behind the success of those people simply because i am one of them.


Those people work and have fun but when its time for work they forget about having fun and when its time for fun they know how much time they are going to spend playing because they have a plan.

While working they don't check their mails, they never answer their phones, they never talk to people around them, they never eat except in launch break and they don't leave their desks expect for emergencies. (see how to over come procrastination)

Doing simple things like checking your mail while working or talking to someone for few minutes may not waste a lot of time but the problem is that these things will distract you from your main task.

Normal people move in a random manner without a plan, after working for 1 hour they realize that there is a great movie on the television so they forget about work and start to watch the movie. 2 hours later they return back to work to find a missed call from their best friend and on calling him back they find that they must pick him after 1 hour.

They get back to work hoping to complete any task in the remaining hour but they feel Hungary and so they go to the kitchen to eat. With every distraction more time is wasted and then in the end those people discover that they achieved nothing while others reached what they wanted in less time. (see Dealing with procrastination)

Doing more with less resources

There is a false belief that states that people must suffer in order to reach their goals and while hard work is important the results you get is not proportional to the work you do.

For example, 2knowmyself brings me more money than all of my friends who work inside or outside my country yet it takes me only 5 working hours/day to manage the site. (See my book How i did it)

I only go to the Gym 3 times a week for 1.5 hours each yet i get better results than most of my friends who go there everyday. Simply its not about the amount of work you do but its about the effectiveness of the work you do.


Lack of planning is the root cause for procrastination. If you don't have a task list to complete everyday then nothing will prevent you from wasting time. After all, the only thing that can motivate you not to waste time is to know that you must finish a certain task today.

So why not finish the task tomorrow? Simply because there are other tasks tomorrow that must be completed too in order for your long term goals to be achieved. As you may have guessed, you must have a long term plan in addition to your daily task list. After all if you don't have goals then don't bother reading this article and don't bother trying to improve yourself.


Contrary to common beliefs, sleeping 1 more hour is more dangerous than sleeping one less hour. A research found that the risk of death is higher for those who sleep for 9 hours than those who sleep for 6 hours.

So stop fooling yourself, you don't need all that sleep, just get out of bed and start working in order to get things done fast.
