Loss of hope is one of the most dangerous emotional states you can experience as this state fuels some of the worst undesired emotions.

Depression is a state of loss of hope in reaching a goal that matters to you. Indifference is sate reached when you believe that your plans aren't going to work. Lack of motivation happens when you think that you have no way out.

How loss of hope happens

In order to get over loss of hope you first need to know how it happens. Your subconscious mind is the part of your brain that is responsible for beliefs. When you believe that something is no longer possible loss of hope happens but the question is, how is that new belief formed?

When you try to do something then fail your subconscious mind might make the conclusion that there is no hope. Some people develop that belief after a try or two while some of them develop it after few tries. Some people lose hope even without trying as a result of the programming they receive from their friends or the people they know.

In all cases, its the fact that your subconscious mind developed a new belief that is responsible for your loss of hope.

How to get hope back in your life

In order to get hope back in your life you need to take the right steps to help your subconscious mind get rid of that negative belief it formed. This is how you should do this:

  • 1) Write down a plan: Most people who suffer from emotional problems don't have a plan to get over it and as a result the problems remain. In my previous article Why you should write a plan i explained how your subconscious mind can start to believe that there is hope once an action plan is written. However there is a small problem, when you are in the state of loss of hope you will usually have no faith in the plan you wrote and as a result you might feel indifferent. So what's the solution?
  • 2) Talk about your plan: Find the most positive people that you know then tell them about your plan. When you repeat your plan out load you are actually programming your subconscious mind to believe in it. The more the plan is repeated the more will your subconscious mind think that it might work provided that the people who listen to the plan encourage you (and this is why choosing the right people is extremely important)
  • 3) Make regular meetings to discuss your progress: Each week you should discuss your progress at least two times with your trusted friends. When you keep repeating the steps you are going to take your subconscious mind will slowly start to believe in your plan
  • 4) Follow the plan even if you don't really believe in it: Even if you don't believe in your plan you should work on it and the reason is simple. When you start taking actions you send a strong message to your subconscious mind telling it that there might be hope. If you got some results your faith in the plan will become much stronger and loss of hope will disappear.
