So what does this has to do with using positive affirmations effectively?
The affirmations that you use are exactly like the child's attempts to bring the ball above the water. Your negative thinking patterns is the hole that will always let the ball sink.

The ball is your mental state, when its above the water then you will feel good about yourself and when it sinks you will think badly of yourself.

Now the reason affirmations never work with most people is that they never attempt to change their negative thinking patterns and they just focus on repeating the affirmations.

Based on the previous concepts you must stick to the following steps if you ever want to use affirmations effectively and successfully:

  • Fix your negative thinking patterns first: If the negative thinking patterns remained there they will shorty bring you back to the state you were in before repeating the affirmations.   • Don't sleep: I know people who repeat affirmations then wait for the magic to happen. This world wasn't designed for those who sleep but it was designed for those who work. Use affirmations to motivate yourself but in the same time do as much actions as you can to improve your life and you will feel good about yourself
